Close to the Illinois border, this Love’s is the perfect place to both start and end your day. With plenty of parking and showers, a Hardees, and a convenience store, you can clean up, eat a meal and stock up on essentials while you’re at it. Plus the parking lot backs onto a forest, which makes your rest extra relaxing.
79 One-Stop Travel Center, St Croix, Indiana
Conveniently close to the Kentucky border, this truck stop offers a welcome respite from the road. There are showers, a convenience store, and ample parking, so 79 One-Stop has everything you need after a full day’s work. Best of all, it’s nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Plateau, and its serene views help soothe the mind after a full day on the job. Relax and enjoy the silence.
Gallops Goshen, Goshen, Indiana
If your runs take you up towards Lake Michigan, then be sure to stop at Gallops Goshen. Besides the usual truck stop amenities, Gallops is also known as the “Castle” gas station. Designed to look like a Medieval fortress (inside and out!), its games and coin rides make it a popular stop for families in summertime. Nevertheless, it has plenty of truck parking and showers, and makes for a fun – and memorable – way to end your day.
Love’s Travel Centre, Haubstadt, Indiana
The second Love’s on our list is just a short haul to both the Illinois and Kentucky borders, so it’s the perfect place to stop for the night. With lots of parking, showers, and food options, drivers are spoiled for choice. There’s also plenty of other food options just a short walk away. Once you’ve fueled both you and your rig, you’re ready for well-earned rest.
Compass Travel Center, DeMotte, Indiana
When the haul takes you to north Indiana, this truck stop makes an idea place to put your feet up. Compass advertises itself as a one-stop shop for truck drivers, and it’s true. There’s showers, laundry, a convenience store and a restaurant as well. There’s also ample parking, and the evenings are surprisingly quiet, too.
